Smiling Amy J. Silvers, East Ridge Residence’s Executive Director

Meet the Executive Director

Amy has had an extensive background in skilled nursing facilities and assisted living and independent living communities for the past 18 years. This has given her the tools, knowledge, ability and want to make a positive difference in the lives of seniors. Having the opportunity to serve the residents and families of East Ridge Residence has allowed her to fill that void. Amy has often said that working in senior living is like having 100 plus adopted grandparents and nothing can compare to that.

Born and raised in Midland, Michigan, Amy’s heart and passion for the senior population and her desire to serve them was instilled at an early age. Doing for others has just always been part of her and her family’s DNA. Coupled with her years of experience in the industry, Amy also has her Home for the Aged/Assisted Care Living Administrator License, as well as her CDP (Certified Dementia Practitioner) certification. Amy attended Delta College University in Michigan and is currently attending Western Governors University working towards her bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration. Amy met the love of her life Robert “Tyson” in 2001 and married him in 2005.  They currently have two fur-babies, Sampson & Rossi.

Amy’s thoughts on working in senior living: “To have the opportunity to serve the senior population and improve their life in any capacity and make their day just a little bit better is among one of the greatest feelings on earth. If you can bring a smile to one seniors’ face, then your purpose has been met for the day – just don’t forget to repeat it for tomorrow. These seniors have given their entire life working hard and serving others. They’ve risked their lives in wars for people they’ve never met, so having the opportunity to pay them back even just a little is priceless.”

How We Explore Chattanooga and East Ridge, TN

With Chattanooga right next door, our residents enjoy all that the area has to offer. There is such a diversity of activities from historical museums to driving through the battlefield and listening to the narrative, to walking downtown by the river. Although the Chattanooga Zoo visits the community each month, we also look forward to driving their way for on-site visits and to the Aquarium. We’ve also ridden the Incline Railway.

East Ridge is in the heart of it all with views of the mountains, pristine lakes nearby, various restaurants, a market with festivals, and a premier art district, feet away from the community. We’re even close to the upcoming Chattanooga Red Wolves convention center with hotels, restaurants, retail and office space, a lake, pocket parks, and greenways.

We offer everything from karaoke parties to pet visits, from regular resident socials to lounging by our outdoor pool. Plus, we provide special culinary services to our residents such as our popular salad bar in the evenings and unique events throughout the year.

Carol Fincher

Executive Director

My name is Carol Fincher and I am grateful to have spent the last 10 years as Executive Director of East Ridge Residence in Chattanooga, TN.

When I chose a career in senior living from the hospitality industry, I knew I made the perfect choice. I love the sense of family and community between residents and my East Ridge Residence team – the loving, caring spirit of our culture and community is an opportunity to make the day even more brighter for our residents.

Previously, I worked for the city of Chattanooga by developing a volunteer program for the Head Start organization, which helps disadvantaged or special needs children. When I am not serving our seniors, I love to take wildlife photography and spend time with my husband, children and grandchildren.

I’d love to show you how East Ridge Residence can be your new home and community, or a loved one’s. Please feel free to schedule a tour with us soon!
